Commissioner Mitchell works for the Rowan-Salisbury School System at East Rowan High School.  He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockwell.

Commissioner Mitchell graduated from East Rowan High School in 1994, and attended Catawba College.  Mr. Mitchell graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and American Government in 1998.

Commissioner Mitchell was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2002, and is currently serving his second term that will end in December of 2010.
